Introduction

Medals are, essentially, commemorative issues and works of art--- some are both, others play to one venue or the other entirely. Historical works are a bit like holding a story in your hand, and often the medal has scenes from battles, famous personages, or moments in time of events from the past. Made in far smaller issues than coins, many medals are vastly under priced and underappreciated. All are interesting in their own way.
