Napoleon and Eugenie/Britannia introducing Gallia to Londinia. Mayor's reception of the French monarchs, held in the Guildhall 19th April, 1855. #7 in the London series of medals, 77mm Bz. this piece choice new, wonderful chocolate color with no marks to spoil it. 350 struck, luster, lovely-- Sold.

Tower Bridge, opening of---Prince and Princess of Wales and Queen Victoria/View of the Tower Bridge. 1894. BHM 3476.  BZ, 76mm. Wonderful condition, great theme. EF----- $335.
France-----automotive, 1906. Very early medal for subject---obverse, Speed, in her car/Rev, "Auto Club of France, society de Encouragement, and a place for an inscription. All inscriptions on these medals that I have seen have been struck, not engraved. This one is a rare SILVER medal, 51mm, and maned to E. G. Martignoni, 9th Salon de'Automobile, 1906. In the original box. EF at least, $295.
France---automotive, 1900. An even earlier medal with the same design as the last. This one awarded for "Assult de Armes", to M. Boulanger. I have seen a few of these, most often in copper, but this one in Silver, a much rarer metal, and the really early ones are seldom awarded for a race, or a car, as no one had one!! Thus, one I have seen was awarded to a fellow for his "Enthusiasm", and this one seems much the same, being awarded for his service. No box, EF, and very nice. One of the earliest Automotive awards issued. As the last, 51mm silver. $245.
CRYSTAL PALACE----International Exposition, 1862. 61mm WM medal, View of building/The World--"To commemorate the exhibition of the arts and industry of all nations". Signed by G. Dowler. The medal is rare enough, but the case is rarer, a brass 68mm case made to hold the medal, with the bust of Prince Albert on the obverse, "His late RM the Prince Consort", and the reverse with a legend lauding the Prince's efforts in bringing the arts to Britain. Ex Leslie Allen collection, the author of ''The World's Show", listing all of the Crystal Palace memorabelia. This piece with a lustrous EF+ medal, and a perfect case. Listed as SK-B105 in Allen's book, and RRRR. His note on the envelope holding the medal and box states that only two specimens have been seen. Extremely rare thus, this is easily the best of the two mentioned, as I have had both---- $440.

The PRINCE OF WALES---Investiture of the current Prince of Wales, Caernavon Castle, Wales, in 1969. Very unusual item--- a Silver Bar, stamped Investiture, &c-- and Prince of Wale's crest. -----------100 Grams fine Silver. Boxed, GEF $48.
PRINCE ALBERT EDWARD ---Prince of Wales. 78mm Copper medal issued upon the Prince gaining majority. The obverse has a bust of the Prince---the reverse has the mayor and officials of the City of London bestowing the "Freedom of London" on the now 18 year old Prince in 1865.  A really beautiful medal, with luster and a "about new" look----stunning. $295
MEDALS COMMEMORATING THE BATTLES OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION---US Mint issue, 1973. Ten medals, plus one "mint medal" in a bookshelf folder. The medals are mint-made reproductions of some of our earliest and most important medals, such as "Washington before Boston" or the feats of " John Paul Jones"---. These pewter medals come with a 44 page booklet, that gives a well written and illustrated history of each medal. A cardboard slipcover, as issued, is included. Excellent condition, --- this would make a nice gift--- $75
Long-Bell Lumber Company. Obverse, bust of Robert A. Long/Reverse is a Forest scene, 1875-1925. Struck in 1925 to commemorate 50 years in business. Choice UNC, and a whopping 3" (82.5mm). $110.
LAFAYETTE---A 47mm medal, featuring the bust of Lafayette on the obverse, and a blank reverse. The maker is named as Bale & Co, New York. This was a trial piece made about 1834, but apparently never finished. Struck in copper, and a nice obverse, and US manufacture. It is quite RARE---last auction appearance had one estimated at $1000-$1500.  How about a nice EF for $255.

Really neat piece, yellowish bronze, by Robert Weinman. The medal entitled, appropriately, "Cat and Mouse"-----as new, EF then, $185.
GEORGE WASHINGTON----63.5mm White Metal medal, 1876.  Obverse, legends for the Centennial in 1876/Reverse, the tomb of Washington. The latter can be found as Baker #119, but this muling is not listed there. Both sides known, but not together, apparently. Minor rim tics, nice EF, no real problems and good eye appeal, EF--- $345.
CLEVELAND, OHIO--- Centennial medal. 1796-1896. 34mm gilt bronze, with a bust of Cleveland/Flags with shield. This with the original ribbon and hanger, these also dated, the ribbon in color on white. Ribbon is Fine, Medal EF, probably very scarce------ $110.
KARL GOETZ---- K549, 125mm bronze. Very large format, completely missing in nearly every major sale----The Munich Agreement, 1938 Obverse busts of Hitler, Mussolini, Chamberlain, and Daladier--- the reverse a view of the Munich Fuhererhouse, eagle, swastika. The appeasement of Hitler at this conference led to the German occupation of the Sudetenland, and the embarrassment of Chamberlain, who had returned to Britain proclaiming "Peace in our time". The conference became a symbol of what appeasement to a dictator might lead to. This EXTREMELY RARE medal is EF, and in superb condition----- $1195.
